Looking Forward

In conjunction with the Whitford Residents and Ratepayers Association, lobby for the resumption of ‘Healthy Waters’ testing levels of pollution levels in the river. There have been none carried out for a number of years, especially in the upper reaches of the Turanga river around the public boat ramp area. Whitford Residents and Ratepayers Association have been requesting this for a number of years to no avail.

To work with other interested groups to develop further walkways and ensure that appropriate reserve plantings are established to enhance water quality and ambiance of the walkway.

To be a voice of the community, for the estuaries

The Society is actively seeking new members as the awareness of the pressures our environment increases and with future clean ups of our estuaries proposed, the more members we have on hand, the quickly we can accomplish these clean ups.
​
We are about to become more proactive in raising funds for meeting our objectives - and the forthcoming legal challenge of wastewater discharges being consented into one of our estuaries.
